Cathedral of Life (COL) was established in January 2002 under the leadership of Bishop Alan G. Porter, who also serves as the Senior Pastor and Establishmentarian. Along his side stood the first seven incorporators and directors; Elder Joseph Jackson, Elder Larry Twyman, the late Elder Mary Hillian, Deacon Thelma Best, Deacon Yvette Workman (Porter) and Minister Jacqueline Edwards (Simpson), who faithfully stood with the ministry. Seventy five individuals joined the ministry that January night.

The mission of COL is called to "Build a people, who will build a church, to become a community." Therefore, COL is not just another church, but a community of loving believers, sharing a purpose-driven message with a prophetic insight, transforming lives one person at a time. We believe this can be accomplished through preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ, teaching Life Solving Principles and empowering "Saint to Saint Ministry."

Cathedral of Life is non-denominational church, however we are Pentecostal in fervor, Charismatic in delivery, Holiness in lifestyle, Word in teaching, and Anglican in liturgy. We embrace the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Spirit Baptism of Christ and the Ascension Gifts of Christ. We hold true to the Message of Salvation that Jesus Christ is the only way for mankind to be redeemed.

Cathedral of Life has developed pastoral support ministries, community outreach programs, and empowerment ministries such as; men's ministry, women ministry, music and fine arts ministry, youth and young adult ministry, hospitality and greeters ministry, ushers and security ministry, discipleship ministry, school of ministry and life enrichment institute, evangelism ministry and missions outreach ministry. COL encompasses a diverse and effective staff totally dedicated to ministering to the whole man - spiritual, physical and intellectually.

The vision for the Cathedral of Life is to build the "City of Life," which will consist of a Family Life Center, School of Ministry and R L Dennis Leadership institute, Club Life (youth entertainment facility), Book Store, Sipp Up (a coffee and pastry shop) and Renewed Life (transitional housing).

With vision we say, what is the plan, not let me think of a way; with vision we say, when will we start, not who will start; with vision we say, what can I do, not who is going to do it!!!
